Education

Our goal is to educate the next generation of Earth system scientists in weather and climate observations, Earth system modeling approaches and their applications for society. This is manifested by the teaching curricula on weather and climate for bachelor and master students at the University of Cologne (https://geomet.uni-koeln.de/studium) and the University Bonn (https://www.ifgeo.uni-bonn.de/abteilungen/meteorologie/). Our Master course on Energy Meteorology (METEN) at the University of Cologne is in an open module for alle HErZ partner universities.

In August 2024, we will carry out the HErZ Summer School on Modern Methods for Atmospheric Profiling — a hands-on course for Master students and early-stage PhD candidates open for students from all HErZ partner universities and other research institutions with focus on atmospheric science.
